OMG! HAHA! Another thing on the Catholic Nerd blog:
"[you know you're a Catholic nerd when]......you think it is *very* romantic to switch rosaries with your boyfriend."
Ha! I have totally done that, and I think it's an awesome thing. Every time I pray on it, it reminds me to pray for him.
Wow, I'm loving this, more ... "...you have a dream that you receive the charismatic gift of tongues, and think to yourself, "oh, so that's how it comes!" This, I must say, has occurred. I also had a dream, once, where I was leaning over St. Thomas Aquinas' shoulder as he wrote the article "Whether God has speculative knowledge" -- and he was writing it in Latin. I was dreaming in Latin. THAT was one of the best dreams I've ever had. [G]
...you pick dates for significant events by looking up feast days. (Ha!)
...you have more pictures of saints than of relatives on your walls. (It's a really close tie between Jon pictures and Dominican pictures...)
...you stop and compare ashes with friends after Mass. (Ash Wednesday's comin' up... when Fr. Abe would give me ashes, they rather resembled airplanes...)
...you have a disturbing dream that a series of misprints in the breviary shatters your prayer life. (Shutup, it IS disturbing!)
...you are driving down the road going crazy because you can't remember the 5th line of the 2nd verse of Tantum Ergo (extra points if check for the words in the breviary that's sitting on the console) [Augh, it seriously drives me nuts when I can't remember any part of the Tantum Ergo. That is my FAVORITE hymn/chant/poem/piece of Latin/everything, EVER]
...you have ever considered naming one of your possible children after one of the more obscure Fathers of the Church. (Hopefully you then realize that no one will be able to spell or pronounce it.) [I think Xyxtus is a cool name...]
...knowing that a guy or girl goes to daily Mass is a big turn-on. (*fans self*!)
...you know multiple melodies for Tantum Ergo. (It being my favorite everything, of course! It was one of the very first posts in my blog, too)
...you stereotype people by their apostolate, i.e. Opus Dei, Regnum Christi, etc. (Not to mention by their order, too: Benedictine, Franciscan (*cough*), DOMINICAN...)
...you not only know what a motu proprio is, but you fantasize about ones you would issue if you were Pope (I would ban certain hymns and certain musical instruments in Mass) :) [*cracks up*]
...the highlight of your week is talking to Jeff Cavins, if only for a second on a Catholic Radio Program. (Hey -- I wrote an email in to "Life on the Rock" and he answered my question once!)
